Recurrring Volunteer Opportunities
Forget everything you ever knew about hospital volunteering! Volunteer at Baylor Irving help in the ER, in surgical suite, rock babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit…and do the traditional front-desk greeting and work in the gift shop. Call John Drake for more information at (972) 579-4391 and mention you are a Hackberrian!
Our Children’s House at Baylor Irving needs volunteers to help read each week with preschool children who have medical needs (e.g. Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, etc.). An hour of volunteer help each week can make a HUGE difference in getting these kids ready for kindergarten. Call Tawnia Wise at (972) 579-4395 for more information.
The DFW Humane Society is a non profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1967. They are a no-kill shelter dedicated to giving homeless and unwanted pets a second chance in life through adoption. They house about 80-100 animals at any given time and take in strays and owner released pets from the DFW Metroplex. They don't receive any state or federal funding but depend solely on caring people for their survival. Put a Paw print in your heart and a best friend at home! Please visit: http://www.dfwhumane.com.
